“For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God who said ‘Let light shine out of darkness’, has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” II Corinthians 4:5-6

The Spirit

The Holidays are super busy for me. My day at UPS starts at 2:00 am and goes until about 2:30 in the afternoon. During this time, it is easy for me to neglect the spiritual means of conforming my soul into the image of Christ. We are currently studying the doctrine of the Holy Spirit in our Sunday School class at Shell Creek. One of the passages that we have been working through in class is Romans 8. Today, Romans 8 hit me hard. Hard but good. Paul tells us that the “Spirit helps us in our weakness”. He helped me today by showing me a blog article by Tim Challies. The video that I posted is simply amazing. My wife and I watched together, both crying tears of joy and conviction. Oh I pray that you would read the article and watch the video.

  1. Thanks for pointing this out and linking to it. It is good for those of us who are older to see the younger do the things we used to love for it reinvigorates us. In a similar way I think that's why older couples like to go to weddings. It reminds us of the joy it truly is.

To watch these people thoroughly rejoice over the bible renews my own heart.
